In anticipation of Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters (July 7 to Sept. 3, foapom.com), locals can get an up-close look at the artistry of its painted performers in Matthew Rolston, Art People: The Pageant Portraits, the debut institutional solo exhibit by famed photographer Matthew Rolston. On display June 27 to Sept. 19 at Laguna Art Museum (lagunaartmuseum.org), the vivid exhibition depicts 18 exquisite photos curated by the museum’s former executive director, Dr. Malcolm Warner. “How fortunate for us that a photographer of Matthew’s stature found a perfect subject for his art in Laguna Beach,” says Warner. “We’re proud to be showcasing his genius and celebrating the fabulous ‘art people’ of the Pageant of the Masters.” Take a piece of the magic home with an accompanying coffee-table tome featuring the stunning portraits.
