Marconi Foundation for Kids Fight Night raised $325,000, thanks to thrills in and out of the ring.
THE PARTY The action inside the ring featured title fights, while the action outside the ring included lively auctions, a sumptuous four-course meal by White House Catering and a martini bar by Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Yes, this year’s 19th annual Marconi Foundation for Kids Fight Night was an evening of thrills for its 350-plus guests, who helped raise $325,000—enough money to sponsor 170 kids in Seneca’s Guided Animal Intervention Therapy program. THE GUESTS Hosts Dick and Priscilla “Bo” Marconi mingled with power players like real estate mogul George Peterson, and Merrill Lynch VP Mark Hales and wife Wendy. THE HIGHLIGHTS Former L.A. Lakers basketball great A.C. “Iron Man” Green chatted with fellow guests before the bell was rung. And in between bouts, goodies went up for bid. A trip to Japan sold for $18,000 and a vacation in the Bahamas aboard a luxurious yacht went for $10,000. There were raffles for three fine baubles, courtesy of Winston’s Crown Jewelers (think freshwater pearls, diamonds and plenty of gold). A winning night! -tina borgatta
