Holiday Hit

It’s only fitting that Hoag’s Christmas Carol Ball would hit a high note at its 49th annual showing. After all, the event raised funds (to the record-breaking tune of $1.5 million) for its Promise Campaign. Launched publicly just a few months prior to the fete, the initiative seeks to bring in $627 million by 2020 in an effort to increase access to world-class medical care in O.C.

A healthy set of 650 donned festive finery and filled The St. Regis for holiday cheer—think aerialists pouring bubbly and an auction boasting a round-trip private jet to Vegas. Julia and George Argyros, meanwhile, danced to music from the N8+ Jazz Band. And Jeffrey Brandt and Wesley Sasser-Brandt posed for photos amid the fun.

While the revelry ensued for only one night, what brought the most joy to guests was knowing their impact would be felt for years to come. In the words of co-chairman Fariborz Maseeh: “Hoag provides exceptional care for our brothers and sisters, kids and grandkids, friends—and people we will never meet.” -Photography by Ketara Gadahn
