Hocus Pocus

An Enchanted Evening of Magic & Comedy was the theme for Vocational Visions’ 12th annual fundraiser—and, indeed, it was. Magic Castle members Randy Gastreich and Victor Globa worked the crowd of 300 during the cocktail hour at the Irvine Marriott, entertaining all with their strolling set of tricks. And World champ magician Johnny Ace Palmer picked things up in the ballroom with a mesmerizing show, thanks to the help of Vocational Visions participants. In between, there was music to set the mood and a live auction with winnings like a Corum Admiral’s Cup Challenger watch valued at $14,000 to keep the excitement going. But here’s the best part of all: The evening netted $100,000 to help fund the nonprofit’s programs aimed at assisting adults with developmental disabilities. Abracadabra! –Photos by Ann Chatillon
