It was a star-studded night in Hollywood when Irvine-based charity Guard A Heart hosted its first Pre-Oscar Gala. Held at the Avalon theater, the fĂȘte was attended by roughly 1,600 celebrities, sports figures, VIPs and other special guests, like man-of-the-hour Larry King (who was honored at the gala). The organization pulled out all the stops for that larger-than-life lineup (as would be expected of any pre-Oscar affair), with a grand red carpet entrance, a silent auction with winning items to snatch, live performances and gripping testimonials from the featured speaker, Lene Righeimer. It was a heartwarming evening with every unstoppable beat. Photos by Bphotous.com, Susan Jeske, Rafael Photography, Jimmy Steinfeldt and Gina Waggener
