A Healthy Tomorrow

A crowd of 530 celebrated in the name of wellness at the UCI Health School of Medicine soiree. Themed Creativity & Magic: Discovering Tomorrow’s Medicine Today, the night recognized local notables, faculty and students who are making an impact on the medical world. Among them: retired PIMCO CEO Bill Thompson and his wife, Nancy, who were honored for their support of research and treatment for autism and related disorders. Guests also raised a cheer for the soon-to-open Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. And a performance from autistic, blind pianist Derek Paravicini touched every heart in the room—as did the nearly $1.3 million raised. Yes, the future of medicine is bright in O.C.
