Healthy Hopes

| August 5, 2014 | Parties

It was an evening to support Saddleback Memorial Medical Center’s new cancer institute and honor those affected by the life-threatening disease when its foundation hosted a sold-out bash at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Some 500 giving guests enjoyed a live auction stocked with items like a Surgeon for a Day experience, a glittering diamond pendant necklace and even pies baked by CEO Steve Geidt. And all in attendance were enraptured when Chaplain Anette Rihovsky spoke about her family’s experiences with cancer and the importance of natural healing environments, like the institute’s new outdoor retreat, which was landscaped by Roger’s Gardens. The gala raised $230,000—no wonder it was themed A Celebration of Hope. –Photos by Paul Gero
