Head Over Heels

| March 14, 2013 | Parties

A select group of O.C.’s most stylish women gathered at South Coast Plaza’s penthouse restaurant, Marché Moderne, for a sublime lunch filled with chatter about fashion and Hollywood with the woman who knows both best—Edith Head. Or, rather, it was with her incarnation, otherwise known as Susan Claassen, whose one-woman show enjoyed three sold-out nights to benefit Working Wardrobes’ efforts to help relaunch the lives and careers of men and women throughout the region. Claassen channeled the fashion icon again for luncheon guests—Anne Crawford, Dana Agamalian, Suzan Paek and Debra Gunn Downing, among them—telling tales from her experiences designing glorious outfits for everyone from Mae West to Elizabeth Taylor and winning eight Oscars for costume design along the way. Afterward, the well-heeled crowd headed to Valentino’s chic space for macarons, coffee and shopping (but of course). Delicieux! Photography by Ryan Miller/Capture Imaging
