Firemen filled AnQi South Coast Plaza on one recent Saturday, but they didn’t hustle inside to put out a blaze. They came to start one—by modeling at CHOC Glass Slipper Guild and Bloomingdale’s third annual Firefighter Fashion Show. Members of Costa Mesa’s and Surf City’s fire departments, and current and former CHOC patients strutted their stuff on the catwalk—much to the delight of guild co-presidents Bobbie Garza and Kendee Gardner, and some 200 other fashionistas, who applauded their talents throughout the show. After the models made their final walk, Bloomie’s South Coast Plaza GM Jim Murphy presented the guild with $3,000—funds that will support the group’s efforts to fuel CHOC Children’s future.
