The Harvesters Fashion Show & Luncheon nets $680,000 to feed the hungry.

From the couture looks parading the runway—and the sold-out crowd of fashion-plate guests—to the $680,000 tallied at the end of the day, this year’s Harvesters Fashion Show & Luncheon can only be described as a smashing success. And the generosity of those in attendance was richly rewarded with a sumptuous lunch, a goodie bag containing a bottle of Bulgari Goldea eau de parfum and prizes like a 10-night stay at a beachfront villa in Thailand and a Mikimoto South Sea pearl necklace (Michelle Janavs won that in a drawing).

The event always draws a who’s who of philanthropic, trendsetting power players—Irene Martino, Lauren Wong, Heather Madden (she looked regal in her Oscar de la Renta).

While the styles from design houses like Lanvin and Valentino provided a mesmerizing anecdote, the cause was the driving force. That’s because the money raised will allow Second Harvest Food Bank of O.C. to serve 1.6 million meals to hungry kids and families. Giving—it’s always in fashion. ‒Tina Borgatta
