Food, glorious food—it’s what drew 800 gourmands to the O.C. Restaurant Week Launch Party at Newport Lexus. And, oh, how they indulged. SeaLegs Wine Bar had a melt-in-your-mouth chipotle-braised short rib; Solita Tacos & Margaritas plated fresh scoops of its tequila shrimp and avocado sundae; and Bread Artisan Bakery, Sadie Rose Baking Co. and Cabot Cheese rolled out a table of doughy treats and fromage. (A perfect pair, no?) There were wines and brews to sip in between rounds of nibbles, plus pure decadence from Valenza Chocolatier for dessert. But knowing that the night of noshing supported Share Our Strength’s mission to end childhood hunger was the sweetest bite of all. –Photos by Christian Sosa and Anne Watson
