Golden Year

| April 2, 2012 | Parties

Fifty years were fĂȘted and $430,000 net was raised during the Orange County Museum of Art’s auction, a lively evening that drew a sold-out crowd to support the nonprofit org while nabbing works from an array of contemporary artists. The night included a silent bidding sesh and delish dinner, but the main event came during the riveting live auction, led by Andrea Fiuczynski, president of Christie’s Los Angeles. Up for grabs: works from 50 creative minds like Fred Eversley, Charles Arnoldi and Catherine Opie—all of which were selected by OCMA Director Dennis Szakacs and adjunct curator Karen Moss. And the party didn’t end after the auction: The museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary all year long, with a visual lineup sure to please art enthusiasts near and far.
