Here in O.C. we love encouraging arts education. That’s why it’s no surprise that more than 700 people came out to support the Orange County High School of the Arts annual gala at the Hyatt Regency Irvine. Themed A Swingin’ Singin’ Salute to the Stars of the USO, the black-tie affair was chaired by Glee star Matthew Morrison, OCHSA class of ’97. Guests enjoyed a musical performance by students and famous alumni who belted out favorite tunes like “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Live and silent auctions offered a cornucopia of items, including a Broadway trip to New York City. The happiest guest of the evening was undoubtedly OCHSA senior Collin Sanderson, who received a congratulatory hug from Morrison after winning the drawing for an opportunity to spend time on the set of Glee. More than $866,000 was raised by the end of the night to benefit the OCHSA education programs.
