Girl Coach

A-lister Chrissy Teigen stops by South Coast Plaza for the Coach 1941 Event and bags support for the Step Up Women’s Network along the way.

THE PARTY Model and ever-spunky TV personality Chrissy Teigen was right at home when she strolled into Coach’s South Coast Plaza boutique to toast the debut of Stuart Vevers’ latest addition to the 1941 collection. After all, Teigen’s a former O.C. girl, and she celebrated the legendary launch, along with a chic set of local brand devotees.

THE GUESTS Teigen sported a cute Coach star-studded mini as she rubbed elbows with StyleCon’s Irene Martino and daughter Valentina, and the shop’s manager, Anna Coffman. The trendsetters also snacked on fruit salad ceviche and sampled cocktails from 24 Carrots (Teigen’s a true foodie too; her Cravings cookbook is filled with delish recipes), grooved to tunes from DJ Steven Wright—and, of course, checked out the goods.

THE HIGHLIGHTS The line—which pays tribute to the fashion house’s legacy—made history, and another showstopper came when Teigen rocked the Mickey purse, part of the Disney x Coach collab. Equally iconic? The bash benefited the Step Up Women’s Network’s efforts to provide young ladies in underserved communities with resources to develop professional skills. And that’s in the bag. –Leslie Walker; photos by Ryan Miller of Capture Imaging
