French-Girl Flair

THE PARTY There’s just something about the ladies of Paris. They’ve got a certain je ne sais quoi, an effortlessness that few can achieve—and it was captured on the runway during Anne Fontaine’s spring-summer show at South Coast Plaza. THE GUESTS The designer shared her line with the au courant crowd, and savants like Jill Glick and style and beauty expert Emily Loftiss—to name a few—were enchanted by the natural beauty of the pieces. There were blue floral-printed pants, embroidered vests in earthy hues—and her signature white shirts made an appearance too. (“Pairing her perfect, crisp white button-downs with anything is a home run,” quipped Loftiss.) THE HIGHLIGHTS The breezy aura continued off the catwalk at an intimate dinner held in Fontaine’s honor at Marché Moderne. The patio was decorated in classic colors (a nod to those snowy blouses), with decor that mirrored the collection; and the menu was Franco-Brazilian (she was born in Rio de Janeiro), with a Caipirinha cocktail from Bar Manager Ryan McGraw. Easy elegance, through and through. –Photos by Ryan Miller of Capture Imaging
