Fight Night at Marconi Automotive Museum

| March 28, 2011 | Parties

There are few Orange County charity events more testosterone-fueled than Fight Night at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin. The 13th annual event was no exception, with Dick and Bo Marconi hosting some of the area’s most successful men and women for a night of pugilism, philanthropy and partying. “Do you like the fights?” we asked one female guest. “No, but I like the guys who like the fights,” she said. Fight Night featured an amazingly impressive array of auction items, including signed movie memorabilia from Black Swan, The King’s Speechand most of this year’s Oscar nominees for best picture. But for us the jury is out on the high-tech silent auction bidding process—we actually like looking at bid sheets to see who’s competing for auction items! Indy 500 winner Al Unser, Sr., was in the house along with 300 other guests for the Mardi Gras-themed evening, the proceeds of which (more than $300,000!) benefit the Marconi Foundation for Kids and the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to kids and adults around the world.
