An Enduring Evening

| July 10, 2014 | Parties

It was an aurally inspiring night when the Philharmonic Society hosted its 60th anniversary gala honoring Dean Corey’s final season as president and art director of the oldest music organization on our shores. The theme? Unforgettable—and it was. Culture mongers filed into Big Canyon Country Club to mix and mingle. Dinner brought surprise performances by tenor Carlos de Antonis and stars of Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway. The entertainers delivered classic hits from Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. A live auction included a summer escape to the southwest of France with Corey and his wife, Kaly, and the soiree ended with $185,000 for youth music programs. And that’s noteworthy! –Photos by Margaret O’Donnell
