The guest list read like a who’s who of the local culinary world, and the menu was akin to a journey through all of O.C.’s top restaurants. Yes, we’re talking about the inaugural Golden Foodie Awards, a showcase of simply the best eats, drinks and chefs around. Jim and Julie Ann Ulcickas, Pascal Olhats and the rest of the gourmands grazed on items from restaurants like Taco Asylum and Lucca CafĂ© on the patio. Once their stomachs were pleasantly full, they took their seats in the ballroom to continue their snacking—desserts from Casey’s Cupcakes and Shari’s Berries graced the tables—and to honor their foodie brethren in 30 different categories, including Best Mixologist (Forrest Taylor) and the Next Golden Chef (Francis Laureano).
