The Elyse Walker Grand Opening offers a taste of the trends, and O.C.’s snazzy set can’t help but indulge.
THE PARTY
When a boutique can make a fashion-savvy adult feel like a wide-eyed kid in a candy store, you know it’s doing its job. When that shop is Elyse Walker, it’s obvious why—and the 500 trendsetters who attended the grand opening couldn’t agree more.
THE GUESTS
Indeed, there was much to see in the 12,000-square-foot space, like a frilly one-shoulder top and breezy floral pants by Johanna Ortiz (a favorite of every lady there). Then there were the revelers: The namesake (Elyse Walker, natch) looked the part of a haute hostess—she wore a Givenchy dress and Saint Laurent boots—as she breezed from room to room to mingle with designers and O.C. notables alike. Among them: A.L.C. creator Andrea Lieberman, fwrd.com co-founder Michael Mente (Walker is the fashion director) and local stylista Deborah Keillor.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
The night ended on a chic sugar high, of sorts, with an unexpected dance party that broke out and a parting gift of a candle and warm mini doughnuts—a final stylish treat. ‒Kristen Schott
