Eco Eats

| October 30, 2013 | Parties

The backdrop was a picturesque rural landscape; the scene was a sustainably driven, farm-to-table dinner under the sky; and the goal was to glean funding for The Ecology Center. Yep, we’re talking about the Green Feast event, which drew in $50,000, thanks to 200 foodies, pro surfers like Rob Machado and 16 local chefs, who used regionally sourced ingredients to create the night’s fare. They made nibbles for the Eco App Off contest (Noah Blom was the winner) and concocted a four-course meal with dishes such as swine two ways (from Ryan Adams and Rob Wilson). It was a testament to the nonprofit’s work to create an abundant future for SoCal—and for that, we’ll go green any day. Photography by Ryan Haack and Sarah Scheidler
