Cuisine was the star of the Costa Mesa Restaurant Week Kickoff Party, and the 300 culinarians who filled Noguchi Garden for the affair enjoyed every last bite. But that’s because Travel Costa Mesa served up a dazzling display of food from Mastro’s Steakhouse, and libations from Tres Sietes Tequila and Tatratea—not to mention live and silent auctions, with proceeds from the latter going to Someone Cares Soup Kitchen. When they weren’t nibbling or bidding to their hearts’ content, VIPs like event host (and Riviera dining critic) Jamie Gwen, Diane and Werner Escher, Alexandra Robinson and Terry Dwyer also chatted with fellow foodies and enjoyed live entertainment before filing out with bellies pleasantly prepped for the week of eats ahead.Photography by Reza Allah-Bakhshi and Michelle Yam
