The Cystic Fibrosis Guild’s 31st Annual Gala once again gave hope to those living with the life-threatening disease by garnering $624,000 for research and care—and credit for that must go to the 425 supporters who filled the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa. Chairs Gayle and Dan Demsher, and Pamela Paul, Doug DeCinces and other guests were treated to a chic reception, silent and live auctions—Steve Caro nabbed a handsome Baume & Mercier watch from Traditional Jewelers—and dinner, along with dancing to the tunes of The Droppers. They also joined President Sue Hook in honoring the Stremick family with the Breath of Life award for their tremendous support of the nonprofit. And attendees were moved when 27-year-old Stacy Motenko spoke of living with the disease. In fact, the Bid for a Cure brought in nearly $240,000 alone. Inspirational, indeed. –Photos by Liana Rakijian and Ashley Swensen
