A true luxury connoisseur knows the difference between mass-produced opulence and one-of-a-kind sophistication. Helping to celebrate this appreciation (and craving) for all things artisan-crafted, Fendi at South Coast Plaza hosted a two-day fĂȘte in honor of the brand’s collaboration with NY architecture and design team Aranda\Lasch. The Italian design house’s sumptuous Selleria leather—a custom collection made by traditional master Roman saddlers—melded with the modern point of view of Ben Aranda and Chris Lasch to create several angular, functional pieces covered in intricate, hand-sewn leather and fur. Champagne in hand, a who’s who of stylish guests placed orders for their own bespoke bags and watched a member of Fendi’s impressive Italian team showcase fatto a mano (Italian for handmade) stitching on some bold, truly unique hides.
