It was easy for those at the Glass Slipper Guild’s gala to find their inner kid. The scene was set for a night of whimsy and a common goal of supporting CHOC Children’s. Shady Canyon Golf Club was transformed into a carnival with a photo booth, jugglers and stilt walkers—even a Ferris wheel. The fare also fit the theme. Event co-chairwomen Erin Burns and Kristen Perlmutter, and Heidi Schneider and Marni Sugden snacked on lobster pops and a chocolate chip cookie with milk. When they weren’t being kids again, guests listened on as speaker Janelle Bittinger told her powerful story, bid during silent and live auctions—and helped raise $240,000 for the pediatric hospital.
