CHOC Glass Slipper Guild Gala

| September 20, 2017 | Parties

A record total of nearly $550,000 made the CHOC Glass Slipper Guild Gala simply glow.

THE PARTY The Glass Slipper Guild’s 23rd annual bash at the Island Hotel certainly sparkled. Dubbed Gala Under the Stars: Making Dreams Come True, the eve proved true to its word by raising almost $550,000 for CHOC Children’s. THE GUESTS A sold-out crowd of 450—including co-chairs Meagan Popal and Jean Yu—sipped Champagne in the foyer before entering the ballroom, where a night sky had been replicated in the decor. (PEP Creative dreamed up a picture-perfect scene.) At each table? A raffle sponsored by Traditional Jewelers featuring gifts like a Mikimoto 18K white gold pearl necklace. And all around? Shining examples of generosity. THE HIGHLIGHTS Lizzie Boyle shared how CHOC’s staff dedicated itself to her daughter, Ella, when she was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. Today, the 6-year-old is working to gain strength but has a twinkle in her eye—a testament to the pediatric hospital’s work. -Kristen Schott
