Center Stage

| May 2, 2014 | Parties National

It was a Motown moment when Orange County School of the Arts held its annual gala at the Hotel Irvine, thanks to the institution’s talented students. They put on a showstopping performance that paid homage to music icons like the Four Tops, Aretha Franklin and The Supremes—and their renditions of the classics had the 600 creatively minded guests dancing in their, well, seats. When they weren’t grooving along to “I’ll Be There” or “Think,” Tim Kashani, Joe Lewis, and Karen and Brandon Ogden bid on live and silent auction prizes, and sipped signature Temptation-tinis. (Fitting, no?) And attendees exploded in applause when they learned that the school had raised $9.5 million for its campus completion project, a $20 million effort that will begin with the construction of a new institutional center this summer.
