“We are thrilled to be back in Dana Point where guests can enjoy the sunshine and stunning coastal views while sipping delicious wine as live music is playing. That is what California is all about,” says Emily Kaufmann, Executive Director, California Wine Festival.
Friday’s events will be held at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel and include a tasting of rare trophy wines, limited-production wines and tasting room exclusives. Top chefs from Dana Point will be pairing both hot and cold appetizers with world-class wine selections. The event will be set to live music from Kalina & Kiana, a pop duo who has opened for Justin Bieber.
Guests will also be treated to a silent auction, where they can bid on exotic wines, tasting tours and restaurant gift certificates. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Sandy Feet Initiative, an organization dedicated to supporting siblings of kids with special needs.
The festival as a whole will benefit The Surfrider of South Orange County, which focuses on protecting and enjoying the world’s oceans and beaches. At last year’s event, the festival diverted 90 percent of its waste from landfills. It aims to be a green event once again.
On Saturday, the festival moves to the beach of Sea Terrace Park. The all-day festivities include tastings of hundreds of wines from distinct regions of California. Additionally, local craft brews, artisanal cheeses, breads, olive oil, shellfish, desserts and more will be available as a live band plays on the beach all day. Guests will be able to chat with wine and food vendors to learn the specifics of each and every item.
The festival spotlights rare and reserve vintages as well as California wines from local wineries, like: Adobe Road Winery, Austin Hope Winery, Barlow Vineyards, Bernardus Winery, Carol Shelton Wines, Cuvaison Estate Wines, Ehret Winery, Frisby Cellars Winery, Goldschmidt Vineyards, Lloyd Cellars, Navarro Vineyards, Prager Winery & Port Works, Russian River Vineyards and Sojourn Cellars.
Gourmet food will be catered by top South Orange County establishments, like: Beachfire Bar & Grill, Brio Tuscany Grille, Gino Angelini Authentic Italian Sauces, Gemmell’s Restaurant, Mahogany Smoked Meat, Mozambique and Waterman’s Harbor, among others.
Vibe out for the rest of the evening to the tune of live reggae, calypso, soca and steel drum band music from Upstream.
This event is exclusive to adults 21+ and advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
