Fans of opera were in musical heaven when L.A. Opera performed Giuseppe Verdi’s The Two Foscari inside the magnificent Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. And guess who sang the lead—none other than Plácido Domingo, who wowed concertgoers with previous Segerstrom Center performances of The Girl of the Golden West, El Gato Montés and Il Postino. This time, he was accompanied by Italian tenor Francesco Meli and Russian soprano Marina Poplavskaya. The production earned a standing ovation, of course. And afterward, 25 Segerstrom Center donors joined the cast for a special dinner at the always applause-worthy Marché Moderne. Encore! Photos by Doug Gifford
