Thirty-two years ago, the Ghoukassian family made its mark on the O.C. culinary scene with Bistango in Irvine. Fast-forward to today: The gourmands are toasting the 20th anniversary of their second restaurant, Bayside, a staple in Newport Beach. “We are incredibly thankful for our great guests—many who have become friends—who have supported us through the years,” says proprietor Marc Ghoukassian. To celebrate, the resto will offer a commemorative menu of savory dishes, libations and weekly specials. Think yellowfin tuna tataki, NY Minute Steak or shrimp scampi paired with a glass of Rodney Strong chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon. Should you have room after dinner, treat yourself to the chocolate lava cake served with hazelnut gelato.
