Bayside Bake

| October 6, 2014 | Parties

It was a steamy night when more than 200 guests gathered at Upper Newport Bay for the Children’s Bureau’s annual alfresco clambake. Island Hotel’s culinary team shelled out cuisine, while a wine pull had oenophiles scrambling for fine bottles. And things reached a boiling point during the live auction, as guests threw down the dollars for winnings like a trip to Cabo San Lucas. Fireside s’mores, dancing under the stars and an award ceremony honoring business and community leader Neal Aton rounded out the affair, which brought in 120,000 clams for the nonprofit’s child abuse prevention programs. -Photography by Ann Chatillon
