Affair of the Heart

| September 4, 2013 | Parties National

An enchanted evening was in store for the 400 elegantly dressed guests who filled The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel for the Orange County Heart & Stroke Ball. The evidence? Well, let’s just say it can be found in every aspect of the black-tie affair, which raised $600,000 for the American Heart Association’s research and education programs. A three-course stunner of a meal with a duo entree of dry rub New York steak with pan-seared scallops satiated VIPs Amanda Fowler and John Zehren, while live and silent auction items set bidders’ hearts aflutter. (And Board President Mike Bolen threw down $5,000 for a collection of 25 wine bottles, nabbing the goods for the fifth year in a row.) To end it all: Guests danced the night away, thanks to a bit of entertainment, rhythm and a whole lot of soul. Photography by Xuong Do of Happy Photos
