Where to go for festive flavors and sips in O.C. this holiday season
Five Crowns' pistachio cheesecake

1. Fall flavors are in abundance at Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens, where a new autumn menu comes courtesy of owner and executive chef Rich Mead. Expect a festive spin on signature farmers’ market fresh dishes like grilled pomegranate glazed swordfish with rapini, roast butternut squash, potato leek puree and pomegranate seeds. Pair with one of many new handcrafted cocktails like the Triple B Flavor Town, and save room for the Windrose Farms apple cobbler with cornmeal thyme biscuit and apple sage sauce topped with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. Corona Del Mar, 949.640.1415

2. Five Crowns executive chef Alejandra Padilla is serving up a limited edition fall menu filled with the season’s most anticipated flavors. Sample new small plates like foie gras donuts with pomegranate jelly and sea salt or enjoy new spins on Five Crowns classics like duck breast dressed with citrus-braised carrots, turnips, black lentils and passion fruit vinaigrette. To finish, sink your teeth into the delectable pistachio cheesecake featuring a chocolate wafer crust, raspberries and toasted meringue. Corona Del Mar, 949.717.4322

3. Celebrate the holidays by indulging in A Restaurant’s premier caviar service, offered nightly this winter. Choose from three premium caviar options, which include 100 percent Golden Osetra from Russia, Imperial de Sologne from France and Imperial Kaluga from China. Sample with made-to-order blinis featuring Anson Mills cornmeal, creme fraîche, chives, black pepper and lemon zest, and wash it all down with a seasonal cocktail. Cheers! Newport Beach, 949.650.6505

4. For a grown-up take on your favorite holiday sips, look no further than O.C.’s own happy hour hotspots. Enjoy an elevated (and boozy) take on eggnog at Bayside Restaurant with the Rum Flip (spiked with Myers’s dark rum, natch) or head to Bistango for an apple cider mule kicked up a notch with ginger beer and Woodford bourbon. Now that’s making spirits bright. Newport Beach, 949.721.1222; Irvine, 949.752.5222

5. Mastro’s Steakhouse and its counterpart, Mastro’s Ocean Club, are introducing a seasonal spin on their most beloved dessert with the special edition pumpkin butter cake—just in time for the holidays. Made with real pumpkin and seasonal hard spices, the sweet treat comes topped with pumpkin pie spiced cream cheese, caramelized raw sugar, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and homemade whipped cream. Pair with a flute full of bubbly and bon appétit! Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, 714.546.7405, 949.376.6990
