1. Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana
Architecture by RGA, artwork depicting Italian icons by Don Oehl and patterned blue-gray linen wallpaper in the halls (owner Sho Fusco’s fave) serve up a slice of sophistication.
2. Gratitude
L.A. designer Wendy Haworth created a spa-like ambience for the healthful eatery, which soothes the soul with neutral tones, white-washed brick walls and plants aplenty. Then there’s that beautiful bar.
3. Restaurant Marin
Curious how many chandeliers hang in Marín Howarth von Blöm’s spot? There are 14: three in the kitchen, seven in the dining room and four on the patio. And the tabletops are pressed sea glass—a chic splash.
4. SeaSalt Woodfire Grill
The salty scene comes from the tongue-in-check tastes of restaurateur Alicia Whitney. She brought in chalkboard art by Sophia Monico that breaks down the bovine and a copper origami bullhead sourced from Switzerland.
5. Tanner’s
The rooftop patio greets you with a view straight out of a tropical vacay. The pièce de résistance: a basket-tree bar for sitting and sipping under. You can thank Costa Mesa’s Hatch Design Group for all that.
