37th Annual Gala Night
|March 5, 2019|Parties,
Chapman University’s 37th Annual Gala Night was a musical affair for the books.
The Party It was lights, camera, action as Chapman University hosted its annual gala, this year themed Music from the Silver Screen. It was an apropos title as the black-tie crowd, including The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ashley Jones and Kate Linder, convened at Musco Center for the Arts to watch more than 100 student dancers and vocalists take the stage in a musical extravaganza featuring storied soundtracks. THE SCENE Rock legend and Chapman parent Bob Weir, of Grateful Dead fame, received the university’s Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award, while Drs. Daniel Temianka and Zeinab H. Dabbah were honored as the citizens of the year. After, dinner and dancing commenced in a grand event space that shimmered in violet hues. THE HIGHLIGHTS An outstanding tally of nearly $2 million was raised, all in support of the university’s beloved scholarship program. -Briar Davis
