30 Strong

| July 30, 2013 | Parties

It’s been 30 years, but the Cystic Fibrosis Guild’s annual gala just keeps getting better—and the ball’s 375 partiers contributed to its success. Leslie and Dino Cancellieri, and R.J. and Adrienne Brandes joined the nonprof’s President Sue Hook at the Newport Beach Marriott to mingle over martinis and bid on stunning silent auction prizes. They then moved into the ballroom for the main event, which included dinner, a live auction, dancing and a brave speech from Stacy Motenko. Not an eye was dry when the 26-year-old shared her experiences living with the fatal, hereditary lung disease. Master of ceremonies Shawn Parr later rallied attendees to Bid for a Cure, which they did to the tune of $127,000. All told: The night netted more than $620,000 for CF research and care.
