Calling all culture vultures! Mark your calendar for these must-see stage productions.
The Eifman Ballet visits O.C. on its 40th anniversary tour.

1. The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey
Murder, suspense and a missing 14-year-old Jersey boy are packaged beautifully in this one-man play, onstage through June 25. Academy Award-winning James Lecesne has written and now performs a work that examines small-town prejudice and acceptance in the wake of the gay teen’s disappearance. Tickets $60-$75, Laguna Playhouse, Laguna Canyon

2. Red Giselle
June 16 to 18, emotions soar as the Eifman Ballet shares the narrative of real-life dancer Olga Spessivtseva’s descent into madness. A ballet within a ballet, the production offers a theatrical retelling of revolution, exile and tragic depression in contrast to her status as the romantic icon of her time. Tickets $29-$149, Segerstrom Hall, Costa Mesa

3. Donavon Frankenreiter
The annual OC Parks Summer Concert series kicks off June 22 at 6pm with the surfer-cool sounds of this singer-songwriter. The talented Matt Baxter also takes the stage for fans, who can enjoy a beer and wine garden, nibbles from food trucks and an alfresco scene. Music to our ears. Free, Craig Regional Park, Fullerton
