When the inaugural Pacific Coast Wine & Food Classic sets up some 100 tasting stations for a two-day feasting fest, Newport Dunes will be the site of a culinary beach party.
Provenance's Cathy Pavlos is among the celebrated chefs set to participate in the Pacific Coast Wine & Food Classic.

O.C. Restaurant Association President Pam Waitt spent five years planning the inaugural Pacific Wine & Food Classic, which debuts on the shores of Newport Dunes Resort Aug. 19 and 20. Local celebrated chefs like Pascal Olhats and Cathy Pavlos will dish out summer-inspired bites; wineries such as Ferrari-Carano and Conundrum will pour nectars; and Food Network star Simon Majumdar will play host. For VIPs? Those ticketholders ($200 for one day, $350 for both days) can sip cocktails by PatrĂ³n, enjoy special nibbles and delight in sweets by Mixed Bakery. Classic, indeed!
