Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times
The Golden Globe- and Emmy Award-winning PBS series Downton Abbey comes to life Feb. 12 through May 7 at Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center with this display (tickets $10 to $20) showcasing 36 period costumes from the acclaimed drama. “We are thrilled to be the West Coast host of this exhibition,” says Executive Director Dan Finley. Ranging from servants’ uniforms and riding outfits to delicate afternoon dresses and luxurious evening gowns, the ensembles worn throughout the series were produced by London’s Academy Award-winning costume house Cosprop Ltd. To mark the debut—and toast Muzeo’s 10th anniversary—the museum’s throwing a grand gala Feb. 11 (tickets from $250). It will be an evening of fashion, dining and Crawley-approved entertainment.
