It'll be an evening that lives on through the ages when Hoag Hospital Foundation hosts its 30th anniversary Summer Classic June 28 at Newport Dunes Resort.
Kenny Cetera's Chicago Experience performed at last year's Summer Classic.

The theme is A Midsummer Night’s Dream (in the spirit of the play penned by Shakespeare in the late 16th century), and more than 1,500 of Hoag Hospital’s supporters and a few gastronomes will nibble their way through dishes prepared by some 40 local eateries. Says co-chair Dr. Andre Vovan: “This tradition is always a favorite, with the extraordinary food and live music.”

On the table: a shrimp ceviche with pico de gallo, cucumbers, avocado, lime juice and plantain chips from Red O Restaurant; and a griddle cabcake with avocado mash (more please!) and chipotle aioli from Bayside. Spa Girl Cocktails will refresh with pours of its signature Spa and pear martinis.

To pair with the palatables? Music from DSB, a Journey tribute band, and fundraising opportunities by way of a raffle boasting packages from participating dining spots and a one-year lease for a 2017 BMW 428i Gran Coupe from Sterling BMW. Now that’s a dream!
